Any Apple event brings about endless speculation and anticipation, which crash sometime during the event when the photoshopped images of fake products don’t end up being introduced. Today’s Apple event announced new MacBooks and MacBook Pros and a new Cinema display.

Nutshell review:
1.- Are there significant changes from the prior generation of MacBooks or just small incremental changes in design or speed? Answer: Pretty significant but not killer.
2. Will people be able to tell that you have the newest MacBook, therefore entitling you to a couple months of envious glares? Answer: Yes, but only from pretty serious geeks as the new models don’t look dramatically different at a glance.

Several wind-up flashlights have made the rounds, usually they are kind of a pain to charge up, but they make a good spare flashlight.  Plus, you can rely on them more since their batteries aren’t exactly going to die off.  Well now you can pick up a shaver that is powered only by you winding it up.  Which would make it ideal for a weekend of camping or if you’re overly committed you could use it on a regular basis.  You would have to have a serious passion for going green though. The evil little kitty has wormed her way onto yet another gadget, she seems to be slowly achieving her goal of world domination.  She does kind of resemble the Brain off of Pinky and the Brain.  I’m really not seeing that as a coincidence.  Beneath her giant skull lies a brain ready to take over the world.  Although, her latest project won’t make it to the whole world, it will actually only be in Japan.  NEC, Sanrio and the French fashion designer Courreges have all teamed up to create a girls-only laptop. For those of you who want to play the drums, and can’t take a huge drum set with you, you have two options: One, you could do the beat box thing with your mouth and smack your chest and essentially annoy everyone around you. Two, you could get the Electric Drum Kit Shirt and make some real drum sounds. Of course, there is no guarantee that you won’t still annoy those around you, but at least the Electric Drum Kit Shirt is able to make seven authentic drum sounds. Of all the crafts I’ve ever tried and spectacularly failed at, carving Halloween pumpkins has to be in the top ten disasters. Add that to the fact that I love technology, and you can imagine how thrilled I was to see this decorating idea highlighted on the Crafty Crafty blog (which I read to discover more things I should never, ever try). I’m showing it to you a couple of weeks early in case you’re inspired and need the time to source a Mac Classic (I have no idea what happened to mine, but I loved it so much.) It can store 16GB of APE, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, or WMA files, receive and record FM radio broadcasts and play video on its itty-bitty screen. Unfortunately only its backside is adorned with solar panels — four hours of tanning on a beach towel will get you up to 35 hours of music and 7 hours of video, but you won’t be operating it while it’s lying on its face.
