New baby clothes show you’re never too young to text
Over-pushy parents used to worry about getting their babies into the right college or how to have them read Proust before they got out of diapers (I exaggerate, but only slightly). Now the super-ambitious parent has a new goal: baby’s first text message! Help your little one get a head start on their tech-challenged competition with these onesies from Text Message Baby, which feature slogans such as G2GP (”got to go potty”). They are made of 100% organic cotton, come in 21 bright colors and would make the perfect present for a geek girl’s baby shower. Via Textually. Fujifilm’s 3D camera is just the tip of the iceberg
Photographers have been messing around with 3D photography for years.  It just hasn’t been a nice and easy, already developed for them, consumer-friendly, point and shoot 3D camera they were using to take the photos.  Some photographers were rigging up their own cameras to get the effect, some doing it in post-processing.  Some, used much less user-friendly four lens cameras that did exist out there, just not with the best picture quality. Rumor proves true, Microsoft extends downgrade date for XP
Several days ago, on October 3, we reported about a rumor that Microsoft was going to extend the downgrade date to XP from January 31, 2009 to July 31, 2006 - a total of 6 more months. InformationWeek had e-mailed a Microsoft representative to check if the rumor had any truth in it, and a spokesman replied saying: “As more customers make the move to Windows Vista, we want to make sure that they are making that transition with confidence and that it is as smooth as possible. Solar powered leather case that can charge your iPhone
Of all the sweet and chic cases available in plenty for your iPhone, why would you want to even glance at this leather iPhone case which, at best, can only be termed an ugly duckling ? Because, forgetting its ungainly looks for a moment, it is a solar powered case which can juice up your iPhone perhaps during that unexpected emergency when your phone’s completely dead and an alternate power source is hard to find. The leather case conceals a rechargeable battery that you can charge either by solar power or via USB. Then transfering the power to your iphone takes just a few simple steps – just insert the iPhone into the case and you are done. Building your own MAC may be illegal, but’s it’s also much cheaper.
via D’Vice It’s no secret that Apple’s are the cool PC to have. But as is usually the case, what follows the coolness factor is a premium to be placed more on joining the club, rather than what the club can do for you. And the How-To Geek has once again proven that with Macs, it’s no different. According to recent testing, the HTG compared a 24” iMac with an identical “Hackintosh,” which consisted of similar parts purchased from the PC side of the isle. The result was a staggering $1100 premium that MAC users play for the privilege if having that glowing white Apple logo on their PC. Ad world lookin’ to turn iPhones into 21st century billboards
With millions of iPhones and wifi enabled ipod Touch’s, and over 100 million applications sold, Madison Avenue is playing close attention to Apple’s success. Who wouldn’t? But the MadMen in New York are seeing opportunities, not applications. They are seeing how incorporating advertising into social networking applications like “Loopt” can turn those millions of iPhones into 21st century bill boards. And they’re betting the farm on it. According to recent studies by the research firm Informa Telecoms & Media, the mobile ad market is on a nearly $2 Billion dollar pace for 2008, and promise to grown to an estimated $12 BILLION in mobile ad revenue by 2013. That’s a lot of ads. (Read the full post about ‘Ad world lookin’ to turn iPhones into 21st century billboards’…)

Big Brother Concept House shouldn’t be for everyone

Big Brother Concept House shouldn’t be for everyone
Welcome to the Big Brother house! As you can see here, everyone on the outside can see what everyone is doing on the inside. Yes, it is named after the Big Brother from 1984, not the Big Brother program that helps out so many children. Yet rest assured, your children will be safely watched 24/7 in these telescreen-like boxes, all from the outside courtyard. I realize that most people have shunned the concept of Orwell’s Big Brother. (Thanks to him a surveillance society gets such bad press!) However, this is the age where security cameras and webcams are available everywhere. If you live in a metropolitan area, you’re watched constantly! And people want to be watched. BlackBerry Storm officially announced

BlackBerry Storm officially announced
BlackBerry aims to take the world by storm with its, er, Storm, the latest handset from RIM. Touted to be the first “clickable” touch screen smartphone in the world, the Storm will be made available via Verizon Wireless and Vodafone sometime this fall, with the former catering to customers residing in US while the latter will service customers across the pond, in India, Australia and New Zealand. Just what is this storm in a teacup (pun intended) all about, and more importantly - will it ever rise up and overcome the shadow of the iPhone? After all, basically everyone and their dog know about the iphone prior to its release due to the hype generated, but no matter how good the Storm is, not many people on Main Street are aware of its impending release.
