Best Buy to carry the T-Mobile G1, Pearl Flip 8220, Palm Treo Pro
As much as this pains me to say, it appears as if Best Buy is becoming the place to go for popular handsets.  It was not that long ago that they added the iphone 3G and HTC Touch Diamond.  Now, it looks like customers will soon be able to grab a few more smartphones and it seems that October 26 is the day to look forward to.  On that day Best Buy will make the unlocked Palm Treo Pro available.  Of course, that is perhaps the least exciting of the bunch as the Pearl Flip 8220 and HTC G1 will also be made available that same day.  Keep in mind both the Pearl Flip and G1 will be locked to T-Mobile, and although the G1 will be in-store it will not be on-sale until November 16.  Finally, if a smartphone is not what you are looking for, Best Buy also recently made the C902 Cybershot from Sony Ericsson available as an unlocked model. 4 AA batteries, 15 Minutes, Full Power!

Written by admin on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 in gadgets and technologies.

Uniross are launching their brand new 15 minute High Speed Charger with some crazy charging times.

I remember when I get my first rechargeable batteries in the 80’s for my cassette walkman. I remember it taking about 8 hours to charge 4 AA batteries up.

Then earlier this year Uniross released the 1 hour quick charger, which could also be powered from the 12V socket in the car.

Now they slash the charging time once again with the new 15 minute charger! Crazy speeds.

The charger comes with an in-built intelligent safety feature which cuts out the charger if still plugged in after 20 minutes.
To keep the unit cool during the speed charging there’s an in-built fan and an LED indicator to tell you if theres a problem with your batteries.

The charger will be available from October and the RRP is 34.99.

Poufman Seating for Pac-man fans

Written by admin on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 in gadgets and technologies.

Apparently it doesn’t take much to get around those silly copyright laws, all you have to do is twist the name around a little and try to look innocent. Then surely no one will notice your Poufman seats look alarmingly like Pac-man. Even with having an eye where Pac-man’s eye would be, no one will ever notice the similarities between the two. Well if you would like a bit of gamer friendly seating this is definitely the way to do it. Pac-man or rather Poufman has never looked so classy as he does in the form of luxurious furniture.

This was designed by an Italian company called QAYOT, who decided to risk the copyright laws just to bring some class to gaming accessories.

T-Mobile G1 in-the-wild style images

T-Mobile G1 in-the-wild style images
With a little more than twenty days until the official release of the G1 we are already beginning to see some in-the-wild unboxing images starting to appear.  Sadly, the use of the word “unboxing” is used a little loose here because they include just a few images of the box and a few of the handset still in the box and nothing of any great detail. More than anything, these just serve as a little teaser for anyone waiting to get their hands on a G1.  These pics, of course, came from an anonymous source, but its a safe to think that they possibly came from either a T-Mobile or Google employee. Dell intros the 17-inch S1709W, 19-inch S1909WX LCDs
Dell seems to be experimenting on its LCD product line.  Their new S1909WX and S1709X LCDs use the more traditional 16:10 aspect ratio (with a 1440×900 resolution) instead of using the new standard LCD aspect ratio of 16:9.  Still, these two new LCDs sport some of the features of other Dell LCDs, such as a detachable stand that will allow users to use a VESA mount the display on a wall. These two new LCDs have differing features.  The 19-inch S1909WX has a 1000:1 contrast ratio while the 17-inch S1709W has a contrast ratio of 600:1.  The S1909WX is geared for a wide audience and also features a 300cd/m2 brightness with a HDCP-supporting DVI input for video.  It also boasts 5 Milliseconds Response Time for fluid and fast video.
